"The Lord of the Rings" is a book by J. R. R Tolkien and set in Middle-earth, which is under attack by the evil lord Sauron. With the help of the fellowship, Frodo Baggins sets out on a journey that will change him forever. It is his main task to cast the one ring back into the fire of Mount Oroduin which will defeat Sauron and his armies.

At times, I enjoyed this book, but at others, I absolutely hated it. Tolkien has a special way of writing; he describes everything in depth which makes it difficult to read. When I first started reading "The Lord of the Rings", I took a very long time to read the first few chapters. Because of this, I set it down and ignored it for a while. When I picked it up again, I decided to scan over a few paragraphs since some parts were completely unnecessary. All in all, I would say it's an OKAY book to read. It didn't quite hook me the way I thought it would and it sometimes even bored me instead.

Honestly, I would only recommend this book to people who like in-depth books and have a lot of time on their hands. You need to read over a few sentences often to really understand what Tolkien was trying to say. One cannot simply put down the book in the middle of the chapter. I wouldn't suggest doing that because there is a great chance that you would be very confused when you continued reading. In conclusion, if you're not a person who likes to read in-depth books and/or likes to read little by little, this book is not for you.
