"A Night to Remember"
Walter Lord
History

Walter Lord’s historic novel “A Night to Remember” follows passengers aboard the RMS Titanic in the year 1912.  The story starts on a calm April evening.  The Titanic is on her maiden voyage from Southampton England to New York City when disaster strikes.  The “unsinkable ship” struck an iceberg in the North Atlantic and met it’s doom, sinking to the ocean floor.  We see many different reactions from the passengers as the ship is sinking, but we mainly get to see the captain’s actions as these events take place.
Personally, I liked the book. You usually focus more on one lead character or a few lead characters, bit in this book you have the opportunity to hear about so many different passengers. No two people have the exact same story, which gives the story a nice variety. On the other hand, the book did get quite slow during some parts, when the narrator explains the way certain things and equipment work on the ship. At times it got confusing, as the book changes characters quite frequently.

I would recommend this book to people who enjoy the story of the Titanic or any kind of history in general. It is quite and easy read, and does not take much time to get through. This would be a good book to read in your free time or when you have a peaceful moment, because with the character changes, it can become slightly confusing. Overall, “A Night to Remember” is a very interesting book that I would definitely recommend to many people.
