Ender's Game
Orson Scott Card
Science Fiction

"Ender's Game", by Orson Scott Card is a science fiction novel about a young six year old boy
who's forced to go to Battle School, where young children are sent to grow up in an environment learning to be the perfect soldier. Ender is the third child of his family, which is very frowned upon on their futuristic version of Earth. Ender, who's real name is Andrew Wiggin, gets shipped off to Battle School, in space, by Colonel Graff, since Ender is a remarkably smart child. While at the Battle School, Ender makes friends, and trains. Through his time at the school, he misses his kind, loving older sister Valentine, and still loathes his even, power-hungry older brother, Peter. Colonel Graff is the man who runs the Battle School, and he's constantly trying to isolate Ender, moving him to a new group/army whenever he gets settled where he is, and just generally makes Ender's life in the Battle School more difficult than anyone else's. It is Ender's dream to be a hero, just like the hero of the last Bugger invasion, Mazer Rackham. The Buggers are a bug-like alien species that have tried to invade the Earth twice. The book allows you to follow Ender through his training, and to witness him growing up and overcoming the greuling conditions of the Battle School.

I absolutely loved this book. My favorite thing about it is the fact that you almost never know where the story will go next. It was also very interesting since the book is told from the perspective of a much younger main character than what I'm used to. Then, a lot of the main events and especially the ending (no spoilers) simply left me in awe of what had just happened. "Ender's Game" is definitely my new favorite book.

I think that anyone who enjoys reading sci-fi novels would love this book like I do. Though, even if the person doesn't usually or never reads sci-fi, I would still recommend this book to them. When I was reading it, I just couldn't put it down for about two days straight until I finished it. I think that anyone who enjoys reading would definitely enjoy this book.
